Enschede 1st Day Snow in 2005

I woke up at 10 in the morning, then I open my curtain, I saw different view than usuall, that morning became so white. I wanted to open my window but I could't, so thanks God for the snow, really beautiful from top there. Well then I planned to take my ID card but then when I went to the train station there was no train, all stop because the snow that so thick. Also bus. So all public transportation in Enschede off that day, to be specific let's say 25th Novemvember 2005.

Suddenly there was a woman asked me wether I want to go to Enschede, then I accept her offer to drop me by car to Enschede, (let's skip a bit here)... On the way to Enschede, I was all white, and we saw some people even get troble with it. Well also quite a heavy traffic, about 50 minutes later, I passed a traffic light, suddenly a girl run from our right side to the other side so quick, and the driver just brake immidiately, and we couldn't stop the car, the car just slip, owh terrified. Suddenly the driver open the window and called her and quite angry with her but she just said "It was green" Then I said from the back seat yeah it was... but now is red! well then she's quite lucky that we did't hit her.

2nd dangerous thing is on the enterance of the parking lot. Here in Enschede we have the largest parking lot in the whole of Netherland, and to get there the car must go downwards, because it placed under the ground. Because of snow, I saw a car which going down there, could not stop the car, eventhough the driver put the wheels reverse, but the car seems slide downwards, hopefully they save, I didn't see what happened next, because I am on the way to the place I need to go down.

Those 2 things really opened my eyes, where in one side snow is nice, but also dangerous. Well the snow didn't stop till arround 11 o'clock. It's keep snowing till then. I stayed in my friend house arround centrum but I couldn't go home because no transportation and also I didn't bring and clothes, so then I just bought in a shop and cost me arround 50 Euro. yeah quite a lot but well I need to buy, otherwise I don't have any thing to wear, my clothes just wet by the melting snow.

Yeah everything was not in my plan, where my plan that day didn't work at all. I need to wait till Monday, but Thanks God that everything is doing fine. Ok then the foto will come later. I am going to bed under the white Enschede now. Good night.

Zeit Für Optimisten

I really like this song from Silbermond [name of a band] from Germany. Well to hear, just go the website of them www.silbermond.de

Here are sort about Silbermond:
Thomas Stolle - Guitar
Andreas Nowak - Drum
Stefanie Kloß - Singer
Johannes Stolle - Bass
Picture on the side [left to right]

Here is the text of the song which tell us to be optimistic...

Chorus:

schlechte Zeit

Das ist ne schlechte Zeit für Optimisten
Die müssen ziemlich einsam sein
Also lasst sie uns ein wenig unterstützen
Wer möchte’ denn gern alleine sein?
Das ist ne schlechte Zeit für Optimisten
Die müssen schrecklich einsam sein
Und ich weiß aus eigener Erfahrung
wie es ist allein zu sein

Zeit für Optimisten (7x)
schlechte Zeit für Optimisten

The World is Getting Worse (part1)

I sat down on the sofa alone, watchin TV, suddenly there was a documentary film about "Schipol Airport" I thought it was telling about what Schipol Airport looks like, but it's not the film about. It's about a real story that happened in Schipol Airport almost everyday, where people get cry when they just want to left for some purposes, but there were also some people who feel happy by returned to their mother country more over meet with their relatives.

But there were more terrible thing when the custom become more strict. They caught some people who brought drugs by pretending to be a tourist, at the first he said he just want to go to Suriname, but then suddenly he told the police that he just returned from somewhere. Later on... the police asked him with many question but he replied such a "gek" [crazy]. The worst he put himself as a "Christian" he said "Halleluya" by saying something behind it, I won't mention it.

Later on the other police open the bag and he found drugs then they caught that man. Since he caught, then on the way brought to the small jail in Schipol he changed himself to "Moslem", he even said "If you hate moslem, just returned me to ******!!!" to the police, but the police keep inspecting everything of him, then he put inside the jail and waiting for more consequences that waiting for him in front.

What I want to stress out through this message is, whereever you are, don't get your belonging away from your attention, because we don't know whos arround us. Whereever you want to go, start with prayer so that God keep you away from any harm, and more your trip will be a very nice trip :)

Buwad GantengX

Salam hangat buwad:

Kasian yah mereka ber-2 sampe kelepek2 tuh kesetrum... hehehe.

The Writer

This is my first time to have a book from the writer, first printing, with the signature inside. It's really cool, may be I won't read the book, but I will put that in a glassy case. However, I find my name there inside the book, really touching... KKKYYYYAAAAAA "Surprised".

Well I think it's a really interesting book, not because of my name there, but because it has deep information about cyber world. Really impressive sight with the social value inside. Curious about the book? buy then... by the way mine is not for sell :)

I am totaly speechless now.

Deep Sympathetic

When I woke up at 9 0'clock [Enschede local time], my parents suddenly called me and told me that one of my nephew was "missing". My nephew who always tell me a horror story when I stay a night in his house in "City of rain", Bandung. I can't say anything else, it's over now. Looks He had called him unto His side, I believe everything that He had done is always good.

What can we do if He wants something. Everything comes from Him, everything back to Him. Let He take care of everything. Well deep condoles for my relatives in Bandung there. May be it's the turning point of your family. Think positively, don't make it as a wedge.

So long my nephew...

A Simple Testimonial to My Parents

Dear parents,

I could not hold my tears when I wrote this. What I feel right now is proud to have you. You show me how hard is your work, I relized that you are hardworker. When you called me from far away, I felt that you missed me, I missed you also. I won't make you upset, I'll do my best so your taught won't be feckless. Thanks for giving me a good advice, for strengthen me in God. Thanks for teaching me how to be mature also to my sisters and my brothers. I always remember your hardwork, and the most precious time is when I received a call from you and when you asked me to pray together, I tell you that I can't hold my tears when we pray through voice chat or phone.

That's the power of prayer, even we are sparated miles away, but the power of prayer made the distance a step of foot only. I feel really sorry because I am such an egoistical person. I can't covered all of your kindness, but when I came back from here, I will make you proud. I really miss your smile and the warmth of my family. Can't wait to meet my big family.

Thanks God for giving me a huge opportunity to be the eldest in this family. Even sometimes it's hard but You always gives me a way out and taught me how to be a good brother.

Dag en Nacht in Enschede

Living in Enschede is really romantic especially if you have partner to live here. Het is jammer dat ik geen vriendin/meisje heb :p. Well if you can see the picture of Enschede at night, it is really romantic city. You can feel that Enschede is belong to both of you.

What I like from Enschede is safe and quiet place to live. That's not a suitable place for you if you are looking for a crowd. Well you can still find it in the bar or cafe during the evening.

This view is really nice because for me itshows the real Enschede. Well it's not too bad if compared with other cities in Holland. Enschede is a very special city for me, everytime I am back to Enschede if I got a trip somewhere, I always feel peace when I stepped my feet in this city.

Absolutely Enschede is silence but nice. Well it has big football stadium, known as Arke Stadium, owned by FC Twente. If Ajax, PSV, & Feyenoord came to our home, Enschede became really crowd, even sometimes traffic comes badly.

almost 70% of the populations here is not Netherlander, during Tuesday and Saturday, there are more German people come to Enschede to eat some fresh seafood in the Central Heart of Enschede, we called as "Centrum". I can't say too much about Enschede, but you have to come here to see the biggest city in Overissel. It took about 15 minutes to go to Germany.

There was just FIFA World Cup U-20 held in this city, and the winner of 2005, Argentina, played more than 3 times in Enschede. I am lucky to get the signature from all the Argentinian players. CIAO...

Madame Tussaud Netherland

What a great day to meet wonderful people in Amsterdam. I went there with my friend just to look arround, but we are really lucky with only some ammount to meet famous people such Tom Hanks which you can see on the side and many more. I'd like to tell sort story what happend in July 18th, 2005.

It was arround 06.00 pm. I walked in front of Madame Tussaud Amsterdam. I looked inside the price is too expensive for me as a student, but when I walked out from the cashier to check the price, suddenly one beautiful girl came to us and asked us. She asked us whether if we want to go in, she would gave us special price. She gave us special price as a student, but we kept bargain it, till it get the lowest price ever. I won't tell the price but I you come along with us [me & my friend], you will know.

What's inside??? Well there are a lot of things, one thing there is a part that somebody under 12 years old and also someone with heart problem should not enter. It is called "SCREAM". It is really well designed. Even my friend get shock to see his own body in the mirror hahahaha really funny to see he shocked by looking at his own body huahuahuahuaLOL... Even I was trapped, I thought one thing is just a doll, but it is a real one, it moves it's also shocking me. Eventhough I am old enough to get haunted house, but it's still shocked me... :p

Afterwards we came to the place that we were waiting for. I met Tom Hanks, Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, U2, Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela, and still much more... I put some picture but not all yet. To see all you can visit my photo collection. Anyway thanks to Andrew who took the pictures.

It was really fun there, I will come next time there if there is new stars inside :)

Once Upon A Time In Amsterdam

Walking in the a capital city of Holland, Amsterdam. It was quite hot but eventhough it's hot but really fun. Actually I did not have any fun to go there, but because my friend went back to Indonesia, so I just continue my trip from Schipol [International Airport of Holland] to Amsterdam Central.

Arrived in Amsterdam Central directly walked to the Chinese food restaurant, having lunch with my friend. Then we went to DAM but we lost in "Red Light District". Well it's okay now... not as shock as the first time get there. We decided to took a tram to go to Van Gogh Museum.

Stoped a station before to take a look of guitar store but it's closed... so we walked to the museum. It was a really nice place, a big field surrounded by 3 museums and one concert gebouw [concert hall]. What a nice park. Directly to the locket to buy the ticket enterance for Van Gogh Museum, unfortunately photo is prohibited there, so there is no picture about the artwork, but well I saw with my eyes the artwork of my favourite artist in Highschool.

Unforgetable moment for me to be there. Unlucky for my friend because he can't find what he looked for... He needs to go to US to see the real one. But overall it is really nice museum. Inspired me a lot and living my spirit to do sketch and drawing.

That was the first trip to the museum.
This part dedicated to Vincent van Gogh.

BAMBUL

17 July 2005, 1 hour before midnight... We couldn't control our desire to satisfy our belly.
For your information, here in Enschede its really difficult to find an open store after 6 p.m.
We went to centrum with a hungry stomach, and a pocket full of money (joe's freezzzer money), in quest to find a Greek's restaurant.

We found Sirt*** Restaurant which we think it's cheap and also nice, but when we just entered, we were refused, they said that they were going to close soon. *!@$*%#@*... They judge us by our "fashion" (We wore sandals, t-shirt, and 3/4 pants). Well that's a big mistake for them... *%!*&%**!...

Since then we were looking for another restaurant. Right in front of it, there is BAMBUL restaurant, when we thought that it has strange name and we thought it must be very expensive and not nice, but once again, we can't hold our desire to eat. So we just enter that restaurant.

we sat in four persons table, then we ordered the most expensive menu in the menu-list. Even the waitrees said "You can't finisih the menu by 2 of you, but you can always asked us to wrap it if there are still left." [skip]

It was a very big portion of meat [beef, pork, chicken, and lamb] ugh.... full of fat, but whatever it is, we like it... That was our first time to eat that boast. We ate like an animal, see what happened before and after...

That was a really great food. Now I am going to sleep... I am too full... welterusten.

Rutbeek Excursion

Here we are, the PPI Enschede. Trip to Rutbeek was really nice but it was a really long trip ever with bike. It took more than an hour to reach the place. The picture above taken when we took a rest for a long walk, took about 2 hours to walk arround the lake. I thought it was just a small lake without any interesting things.

But then when I arrived there, I was really different what I thought before, we walked arround having lunch together aside the Rutbeek Lake, wathing people doing surfing, and one thing which is important, we also passed the "NUDE AREA", so all of people there are unclothes, it's normal here in Netherland.

Well we got a very peace message by the Lake itself, eventhough it was made by human, but it's really nice Lake I ever seen. When I just sat down in the sun, plug my feet to the water which is cold, and listen to the music that played by my friend, singing together... Feel how peace it is. Nice environment.

Who said Enschede is not interesting? Well even there is no mountain there, but there is a beautiful lake.

You have to go there!

(The picture of me with the vodka bottle, is not a real vodka. it's just the bottle but the inside is normal water)

The Roelofers

I am, one of the Roelofers that will move to our new places. We are not a 'boy band', we are a group of international student that live in one area somewhere in Enschede. A year we spent together. With the background of the building where we live before, Roelof van Schevenstraat.

This picture taken by Adit, thanks to Adit, well he is not Roelofers that's why we asked him to take our picture. Well guys I will miss you all. Thanks for a great time having fun together and no wonders sometimes we are fighting also hahaha... but it's life. Nothing perfect.

Above all we are still Roelofers and we need woman... hope next time at least there is girl in Roelof. Cheers :P

Farewell Roelof van Schevenstraat

One year passed away. Time is keep flowing. No matter what it is, well 10 months is enough to feel the peace of Roelof van Schevenstraat. Now is the time to find better house to keep us away from wind, rain, or even storm.

Well I feel a bit sad when I have to move on, because RVS itself seems to be my home in the 'low sky' country. Starting from cleane
d everything in 2 days, I feel very busy till then I did not sleep. When a beautiful night after everything clean, I fall a sleep in the very last night to stay on my bed in RVS 104.

A very big room to stay, eat, play, having fun with my friends, etc. Heel mooi... well it's the time to say...

Good bye RVS.
